Scratching to scrap

Nothing seems to be so interesting in life to blog, whatever I type and before posting that, topic becomes trifle. Life has become pale and the rainbow has lost its seven colors. The heydays were gone, that was the days where every second was verve and lively. Now it’s just sedentary work continues all day a week.

Anyway, should thank GOD for giving the time to relish the effervescence of the past.

‘I am Feeling Lucky’

Google it….., this has been a common phrase. Google has become that much intimate in our daily activities. There is a button ‘I am Feeling Lucky’ in google home page. I have notived that button, but dint care to know wat it does and wats behind that. Today I happened to search regarding that and found some interesting fact.

Google has been using that phrase since 1997. It successfully copyrighted “I’m feeling lucky”  2004.Many have questioned its utility given that even Google acknowledges few people click on it.  Perhaps it’s a subtle marketing ploy to encourage the notion that Google always gets it right.

Someone did the math on how much the 1% of people who use the button are costing the company. Google makes a lot of its money by selling ads on its search results page.People who are “feeling lucky” never see such a page and therefore Google’s ads. The “I’m Feeling Lucky” button automatically directs them to a non-Google web page. That estimates that Google loses $110 million of revenue per year by leaving the button for this 1% of visitors.

Love Story

After a long time, just scrapping a bit. After the college days, it happened for me to get in touch with some books often. In recent times I read two books, one if of Paulo Coelho’s Flowing Like the River and next beautiful book is Erich Segal Love Story.

This Erich Segal Love story I downloaded the PDF during college days, but dint find time to read. Two days before started the book and to a wonder I finished yestrday itself. As a matter of fact, this is the only book I finished this in 2 days. It was so touchy and author has depicted a pure love between a couple.

Story is simple, Oliver and Jenny fall in love during their college days. Once Finishig the college they married legally with Gal’s (oliver) father’s assent. Then as they lead a life making their best efforts to meet both the ends, they face some small small clashes, which in turn get them more closer and understand eachother. Then they get some descent money and lead a normal life. Then twist in the tail, Jenny suffers from a disease and counting her days. Soon Jenny dies. After that there were few pages in book, but I was moved by this tragic end and dint move ahead in book.

Eventhough the storyline is similar to the films I have already seen, there is something the author has depicted the rapport between Husband and Wife when they were facing a downtime in their life making hard to meet their both ends. This was a good love story.

Rain Rain Go Awaaaaaaay

For the past 2 days, chennai was covered with black clouds, which poured all thro day n nite. Two days schools were declared holidays, lucky children :-( . The streets were flooded, train and bus service were affected severly. Total chaos….. usually it will take 10 min from vadapalani to kodambakkam, but yesterday it took around 1 hour :-( .

Eventhough there is software boom and city flooding with multinational companies, city infrasturcture remains the same.
